The Annual Provincial’s Dinner – Toronto

Dear Friends,

I am honoured to invite you to the 14th Annual Jesuit Provincial’s Dinner – Toronto which will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

At this dinner, we will honour our long-time supporters Bruce and Gail Young with the Magis award, which is given to those who go above and beyond in doing more for Christ through their exceptional work for others. The Youngs have been benefactors of the Society of Jesus and many of our apostolates for a number of years. Gail serves on our Advancement Office Board and both she and Bruce are active members of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. The couple attends all our events, have been on pilgrimage with the Jesuits, and generously support us.

The Dinner also honours our Jesuit Jubilarians – men marking 50 years of service in the Society of Jesus. They are Jesuit Fathers Robert Brennan and Keith Langstaff. Fr. Brennan is mostly well-known for his years of work serving as much-loved chaplain, teacher, and president of Montreal’s Loyola High School. Fr. Langstaff has taught at Regis College and St. Augustine’s Seminary, directed retreats in Guelph and Pickering, and served visiting pilgrims at Martyrs’ Shrine in Midland.

Like last year, our celebration will begin at the Jesuit Parish of St. Elizabeth of Hungary at 432 Sheppard Ave. East at 5:00 pm. Following Mass, there will be a pre-dinner reception at 6:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm. As in previous years, the reception and dinner will be held at Le Parc Dining and Banquet Hall at 8432 Leslie St. in Thornhill, ON.

The proceeds from this fundraising dinner will go towards funding a scholarship for a young Jesuit in formation. Tickets cost $150 per person, with a tax receipt of $100 for a single ticket. Tables of 8 tickets cost $1200, with a tax receipt of $800. For more than a decade, the Provincial’s Dinner has brought together Jesuits and their friends to celebrate our 50 year jubilarians and the outstanding contributions of our Magis recipients. Please join us in honouring them and supporting the Society of Jesus in Canada.
