October 5, 2023 — Joseph N. Dickan, SJ, of Jesuits West, will be ordained to the diaconate on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the Church of Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, at 3 p.m. PDT. Most Reverend Gregory Mansour, bishop of the Maronite Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn, New York, will be the ordaining prelate.

Dickan is currently in theology studies at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. He will be ordained to the priesthood in June 2024.

Before entering the Society in 2013, Dickan earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles. Later he worked in the advancement office at St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, California. During the summer of 2012, he participated in the “Six Weeks a Jesuit” program, tutoring at Washington Jesuit Academy in the nation’s capital.

He completed his first studies at Fordham University in the Bronx, New York, and next served as a math teacher at Bellarmine College Preparatory School in San Jose, California. Dickan then studied at Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Beirut, Lebanon.
