Story

Ignatian Media LabJanuary 27, 2021 — Do you have a great digital media idea to help promote the Jesuit mission, but could use some help getting it off the ground? You’re the perfect candidate for the Jesuits’ new Ignatian Media Lab (IML).

Launched by the Jesuits of Canada and the United States, the IML will incubate the development of digital media initiatives — such as podcasts, video series and digital retreats — across the Ignatian network. The Jesuit Conference’s Office of Communications and Vocation Promotion will support IML participants by offering mini-grants and editorial, technical and promotional support.

The IML will also connect members with each other in a cohort for the duration of their participation (nine months) for mutual support and workshop-style feedback during the creative process. By the end of the IML period, participants will have released their project into the world.

Those applying to the IML should have a deep familiarity with Ignatian spirituality and the mission of the Society of Jesus and be residents of the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States or affiliated countries (Canada, USA, Haiti, Belize, Fiji, Micronesia), or someone who is living abroad with a demonstrable connection to the Conference.

IML proposals should be rooted in Ignatian spirituality and tradition and connected to the Society of Jesus’ mission to promote reconciliation with God, other people and the planet. Proposals must also be able to have an impact beyond a participant’s own setting.

Applications are due by February 28 and full details on the IML are at jesuits.org/ignatianmedialaband. Contact Mike Jordan Laskey at jcucommunications@jesuits.org with questions.
