SIF Seminars in Ignatian Formation

The USA Midwest Province is embarking on a new project called Seminars in Ignatian Formation. We are blessed with a strong Ignatian charism alive in our works already. SIF will build upon that energy and prepare the next generation of spiritual leaders.

SIF is intended for those who want to deepen their understanding of God and discipleship in today’s world along the lines of Ignatian spirituality and leadership, as well as for those who want to train to be spiritual directors with the specialization of giving the complete Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits.

Beginning in Fall 2019, the first of three annual seminars will commence. Convenient scheduling allows for every-other-week meetings from September through May. In person and online sessions will build community, share valuable content, and form the next generation of spiritual leaders.

Seminar One: Foundations for Mission
(God, leadership, Ignatian Spirituality)
Seminar Two: A Pathway to God
(Spiritual Exercises, spiritual direction practice)
Seminar Three: Sharing our Discovery
(advanced practicum in giving the Spiritual Exercises)

Participants of the program are ideally already in positions of leadership at their sponsoring ministry. They are persons with interest and capacity for learning and sharing about our Ignatian Tradition. Each Cohort is envisioned to become a dynamic learning community that can in turn share the fruits of their experience back at their sponsored work. Seminar One is open to all and required for those who intend to train to be spiritual directors and givers of the Spiritual Exercises.

Equipping leaders with the knowledge and skills for Ignatian Spirituality, spiritual direction, and the Spiritual Exercises will strengthen the collective charism of our ministries across our regions.

Cost: $2,000 per Seminar. This fee is due by September 1, 2019. Additional expenses may include books, spiritual director fees, and travel costs. Finances need not inhibit someone from attending.
